MY BACKGROUND
Following earlier careers as a physiotherapist and social worker I studied theatre at Warwick University and on graduating worked as an actor at theatres such as The Bristol Old Vic, Birmingham Rep and West Yorkshire Playhouse. In 1996 I became Head of Acting (later Director of Performance) at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama leaving in 2020. I have taught acting students for 30 years at colleges and universities in the UK, USA, Singapore and India. In recent years I have specialised in acting for camera and on-line audition techniques, together with practical script breakdown and analysis.

I offer individual coaching (both in person and on-line) in the following areas.
Professional audition technique
Self tape technique, realisation and transfer, including 'reading in'
On-line audition technique
Script analysis and coaching- developmental or connected to a specific audition submission
Advice and support during rehearsal/filming

I am happy to meet you in the first instance (without cost) to ensure that the work will be beneficial for you and that I am the right coach.

A first meeting or chat on Zoom is a good way to discover whether I'm the right coach for you in the first instance - and there is no charge for this. Looking forward, my in person sessions usually take place in SE17 (Elephant and Castle/Kennington tube) or in studios near Liverpool St station. I also hold sessions in Cardiff.
